Yosemite National Park, California

Home to incredible scenery, the Yosemite National Park is a wonderland of granite, trees, and water. Though this year it is suffering from drought and the waterfalls were rather scarce. The towering granite walls of the Yosemite Valley were truly spectacular. Someday when I returned I'll have to dedicate more time to climbing and exploring. Though never to the point of those a bit of a ways down. (First 3 photographs are of Hawthorne Lake, just to the east of Yosemite.)

You're likely to pass Hawthorne Lake when entering Yosemite from the East.

El Capitan, the distinct rock formation, is recognized around the world for it's climbing opportunities. To try and give a reference as to it's scale, here's a few images.

Yosemite Sam has caused a delay

Well, not really. Though he is a gun blazing crazy man. Images from Yosemite will be coming later this week on Wednesday or Thursday once I'm no longer on the road. Here is a teaser for now.

Hiking Near Causey Reservoir up Ogden Canyon

Up the Ogden Canyon past Hunstville you'll run into Causey Reservoir. Home to Kokanee Salmon, which was my initial intention to find, which are currently on their run up stream to breed. Unfortunately, I took the wrong trail head and didn't go down the right path. Which mostly just lead me through the forest turning to fall instead. Oh well.. next year.

Every year as a break from the fall harvest, Brigham City puts on the Peach Days Fare. With it's very own Peach Princess, Silent Monks, tank, and Carnival.

North End of Bear Lake

Busy weekends make for slow photo explorations. Quick snaps taken at the north end of good Ol' Bear Lake. I'll need to go cover the area better and highlight just how blue this water really is.

Antelope Island, Utah

Antelope Island is a small island in the Salt Lake. Though most notable these days is the herd of 500+ buffalo, initially introduced to the island back in 1897, you can find a few antelope if you look around. It's quite the place and an easy stop to see some buffalo up close if you're in the Salt Lake City area.

And just a behind the scenes... my path to get out for the bird pictures.
